Egads. I've been working on this thing since about 9:30 this morning. That's a good six hours working on this. And I STILL got more stuff to scan, color, and submit.

Anyway, recently, I noticed that my five mains in Super Smash Bros. Brawl fit the characteristics of a Five Man Band. Here's the sauce:

1. Sonic: The Hero - "The leader of the group; can be clean-cut and upstanding, bold and charismatic, serious and driven, or some combination of the three." I dunno about "clean-cut", but Sonic does definitely fit those other traits. Moreso than the other four.

2. Snake: The Lancer - "The second-in-command, usually a contrast to The Hero. If the Hero is clean-cut, the Lancer is a grizzled Anti Hero; if the Hero is the driven and straight-laced type, the Lancer is more relaxed and level-headed. In a comedy situation, the Lancer is often The Straight Man or a Deadpan Snarker." That pretty much sums Snake up right there.

3. Mr. Game & Watch The Smart Guy - "The physically weak, but intelligent or clever member, often annoying or for comic relief; frequently a trickster and a buddy of the Big Guy." Really, Game & Watch pretty much got this spot by process of elimination more than anything else, but even then, he still works as the Smart Guy, since he's one of the lightest characters and uses improbable and (possibly) improvised weapons, plus he's an utter goober.

4. King Dedede The Big Guy - "The strongman of the team, often dumb. Or mute. Sometimes a Genius Bruiser." Dedede's a farking hooge powerhouse; what ELSE would he be??

5. Peach The Chick - "Usually the band's "heart" or moral center and the most innocent and/or emotional of the group. This role is usually taken by the token female of the group, hence the name, and if there's a royal in the band, it's usually her. If done wrong, the Chick is little more than a useless tag-along who gets in the other heroes' way. If done right, she can become Team Mom or a Cool Big Sis. In some recent series, The Chick is replaced by an Action Girl." Naturally, Peach is an Action Girl by far, and if the five of these guys did band together, Peach could easily be a Team Mom and/or Cool Big Sis. Of course, she's also the token female, so of course she's the Chick.

Anyway...yeah. That's pretty much it. Peach looks so much better than the last time I drew her. And why can I never draw Shadow as good as I can Sonic?
